About This Treatment
Swedish massage is the classical European technique that most people picture when they think of a massage: long gliding strokes, kneading, and rhythmic work that moves systematically over the back, legs, arms, shoulders and neck. It is worked at a medium pressure — present enough to release tension, gentle enough that you can genuinely relax into it.
We keep the pace slow and the room quiet. There is no talking required, no upselling at the end, and no attempt to fit ninety minutes of work into sixty.
Benefits
- Eases everyday muscular tension — particularly across the shoulders and lower back.
- Encourages deep rest — many guests fall asleep, which we take as a compliment.
- Improves how the body feels overall — lighter, looser, less braced.
- A gentle first experience — the least intimidating treatment on our menu.
What to Expect
Arrive ten minutes early for tea in the lounge. Your therapist will ask about any injuries, sensitivities and areas you would rather avoid. You undress to your comfort level in private and lie under a towel; only the area being worked on is uncovered at any time.
Pressure is confirmed in the first few minutes and can be adjusted at any point — please say so rather than enduring it.
Treatment Process
- 01 · Consultation (5 min)
A short conversation about pressure, focus areas and anything we should avoid. - 02 · Back and shoulders (20 min)
Where most tension sits, and where we spend the longest. - 03 · Legs and arms (20 min)
Flowing strokes and light kneading, working towards the heart. - 04 · Neck and scalp (10 min)
Turned face-up, finishing with the neck, décolleté and scalp. - 05 · Rest (5 min)
Time on the table to come round, then as long as you like in the lounge.
Who Is It For?
Suitable for most adults, including first-time guests and anyone who finds firmer work uncomfortable. It is a good choice when you are simply tired rather than carrying a specific injury.
If you want focused work on a stubborn knot, Deep Tissue Massage is the better booking. Please tell us at consultation if you are pregnant, have recently had surgery, or are being treated for a circulatory condition.
Aftercare
- Drink plenty of water for the rest of the day.
- Avoid a heavy gym session for a few hours if you can.
- A warm shower that evening — not immediately, so the oils absorb.
- Mild tenderness the next day is normal and passes quickly.
